Liam Midzain-Gobin

Biography

Liam Midzain-Gobin is a PhD student in International Relations at McMaster University. His doctoral work focuses on indigenous peoples and data collection as read through settler colonial and post colonial theory. Specifically, Liam is studying the effects of data collection on indigenous communities, and their responses to it. Liam also attended the University of Ottawa, where his Master’s thesis put forward a critique of indigenous rights norms as they relate to the United Nations human rights processes, and his other work touched on issues of privacy and intelligence-operationalization in the field of security studies.
